At Bayland Park this week, the Amaanah Lions experienced something a little different from their usual training session. Instead of drills and scrimmages, the players took part in a professional photo shoot designed to capture the energy, pride, and identity of the Lions community.
More than 50 players gathered at the park as a professional photographer set up lighting, smoke, and dramatic pyrotechnic effects to create striking images of the team. Against the evening sky, the combination of sparks, smoke, and stadium-style lighting transformed the familiar training field into a powerful stage for the players.
For many of the young people involved, it was their first time being part of a professional shoot. Players stepped forward in their Lions kits, posing individually and in groups while teammates cheered them on from the sidelines. The atmosphere was full of excitement, laughter, and a real sense of pride in being part of the Lions.
The goal of the shoot was not only to create dynamic images, but also to celebrate the identity of the program and the young people who are part of it. The Lions represent resilience, community, and opportunity, and the photographs aimed to capture that spirit.
Events like this also help the players see themselves in a different light. Being photographed in such a professional setting sends a powerful message that they belong, that they matter, and that their stories are worth telling.
As the final sparks faded and the shoot wrapped up, the players returned home with more than just great photos on the way. They left with a shared memory of an evening that celebrated who they are as a team and as a community.
